It is a work born from a suffering of the body and of the soul.
The body was hit by breast cancer, the soul from an unconscious suicide.
The work is the representation of this suffering. The bust is the mold of myself post mastectomy. The paper used to make it is the result of the transformation into new sheets, of the papers accumulated: medical analysis for chemotherapy, radiotherapy, notes of the surgeon, clinical appointments.
On the fabric that encloses the bust I have embroidered, with woolen threads, synonyms of “dead”.
On the ground I have placed lead plates that make up an impassable circle within which pain develops, while some roses, also of lead, retain the fabric.
Finally, in the two panels behind the bust, the photos tell the process of paper transformation.
